Steel City Stonewall Democrats will send the following message to your representative to oppose the Family Discrimination Amendment.
Dear Representative _______________________________________,
I urge you not to co-sponsor the so-called Marriage Protection Amendment and to oppose it if it comes to a vote. This discriminatory amendment would deny legal protections lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender families, as well as ban civil unions. It could also jeapordize domestic partner benefits including health care coverage for unmarried partners. Pennsylvania already has a law that denies civil marriage to same-sex couples. The proposed amendment is unnecessary and hurtful to all Pennsylvanians -- including unmarried heterosexual couples.
