Chelsea MacDonald was appointed to the board in 2024 and is running to continue her service as a school director. She stepped into this role with a commitment to strengthening the public school experience for all students – particularly in the areas of curriculum, arts education, and student engagement.
She has worked across service, trade, and community-based industries, bringing a grounded, people-first perspective and strong sense of equity to her work. Today, she serves as Director of Operations at an LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health practice, where she oversees hiring, training, and systemic improvements that prioritize both staff wellbeing and client care. She brings progressive values, deep curiosity, and a belief that change is built from the ground up.
Chelsea is especially passionate about revitalizing arts programs and helping the district build a reputation as a small but student-centered community that attracts and retains families. Her vision is a district where students feel proud of their schools – and where that pride is reflected in performance, creativity, and community engagement.
As a values-driven and accountability-minded leader, Chelsea takes a systems-level view of the challenges and opportunities facing the district. She’s committed to making informed, collaborative decisions that center students, families, and educators.
